About Maui County Health Volunteers:

Maui County Health Volunteers (MCHV), launched in early 2007, is one of over 875 Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) units across the country.  The MRC was established in response to the September 11 attacks in 2001 so that ordinary people and healthcare providers could respond to disasters as part of a trained and coordinated effort.  MCHV is a resource under the Maui District Health Office and works closely with the Department of Health to prepare for responding to public health emergencies.  Our volunteers also support non-emergency public health initiatives such as seasonal vaccination campaigns and health education.

MCHV is one of four MRC units making up the Hawaii Medical Reserve Corps.  For information about the other MRC units in Hawaii, click here.
